The self-sufficient weather and radio station JP65EQ is located on the small island of Hamnøya in the municipality of Vevelstadt in northern Norway, away from the increasingly increasing interference radiation. It was built in July 2022 and went into operation as an APT/LPRT satellite receiving station. However, there is now a lot more inside the small receiving station, a KiwiSDR 0-30Mhz (test phase until 2024) and a Lora APRS Igate have also been installed. Furthermore, an OpenwebRX (UKW), a SKYCAM and a terrestrial weather station are to be retrofitted in the future. All data is published here on this homepage, which the station sends to our home via LTE router. The energy needed to keep the station operational comes purely from renewable resources. A 24V 600W vertical wind turbine with 3 phase generator and a 24V 300W solar system reliably supplies the station with electricity all year round, which is stored in two AGM 240AH batteries.
